AGH One Night Stand
An off-site exhibition as part of Hamilton’s James Street North Art Crawl

Hamilton Road Trip
Take a road trip with Roy. Raised in Hamilton, Roy Caussy has been travelling Canada, attending art school on the east coast, and most recently, he’s been stationed in the west. He is currently an artist in residence at Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant, through the South Asian Visual Arts Centre.

Hamilton Road Trip is a sound and video installation that will make you love Hamilton even more. In a darkened room, a projected image of a Hamilton landscape takes over. Caussy created this work by driving into Hamilton’s surrounding countryside, as a reflection on his relationship to the city and its surrounding landscape. When Caussy recently left Vancouver on a road trip to Hamilton, he listened to cassette tapes given to him by a friend. Passing that gift on, this new video re-plays those classic songs. What is a road trip without Led Zeppelin and Van Morrison?

Caussy will offer free copies of his road trip mix tape to visitors of the AGH One Night Stand exhibition.

Curated by Melissa Bennett, Curator of Contemporary Art, Art Gallery of Hamilton.

Presented by the Art Gallery of Hamilton and Marchese Health Care.
