October is Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month and AGH is thrilled to join in this important celebration by welcoming new audiences to the Gallery. Beyond Sight is an international initiative to call public attention to the need for and benefits of making art and visual culture accessible to people with vision loss and other disabilities.

Throughout the month of October, AGH is pleased to offer introductory Touch Tours for visitors, allowing a broader audience to experience art in new and innovative ways. Access AGH is a new initiative that will be more fully explored in 2009, but in honour of Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month, we are thrilled to introduce it for this special event.

Touch Tours are available for student and adult groups of up to 15 people, and will focus on two to three specially selected works of art.

Join us for Tour Day, on Sunday, October 12 at 2:00 pm and Family Fun Day on Sunday, October 26 at 2:00 pm for a sampling of a Touch Tour activity! These tours are open to the general public – regular admission fees apply.
