Douglas Edwards is a contemporary painter based in Hamilton, Ontario. “I have used color and light to express everything in my life. It is my way to deal with the happiness, sadness, grief and healing of life and to try to reach serenity and fulfillment. Each painting brings me something new, as a chapter in a book or a pattern of thought and nature. I endeavor to share my expression of serenity on canvas.”
His paintings are represented in a number of public and private collections including the TSX, BCE, Manulife, Ontario Casino Corp., among others. Over the years, he has taught art courses at Sheridan College, the Leighton Center, Alberta and Ontario College of Art and Design. He has exhibited his work extensively in Canada as well as shows in the United States, Sweden, England and Japan.
