Julie Fader was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. Her series of paintings are flowing abstract images, colour combinations, and controlled design. Fader’s creative process embraces freedom and spontaneity by allowing both emotion and improvisation to guide the impression of her work.
A self-taught painter, Fader also has a background in jewellery design & silversmithing. She has studied at George Brown, Mohawk College, and Georgian College. Her artwork has been featured in both solo and group shows at Galleries such as Spin, AWOL, AGH, Our Gallery and Fountain Contemporary, among others.
Fader released her first solo record called OUTSIDE IN on Toronto label Hand Drawn Dracula, with one of her paintings featured on the album cover. She also designed and painted the 8ft stage backdrop featured in Sarah Harmer’s ‘I Love The Escarpment’ tour. Julie is the singer/songwriter in Toronto based synth pop band – Etiquette. She is currently based in Toronto, Ontario.
