Julie Hawkins began her professional creative aspirations in the interior design field, but has since wholly dedicated herself to an abstract painting artistic practice. Her works are created out of intuition through spontaneous movement and expressive brushstrokes. Considering her practice to be an integral part of her efforts to live a mindful life, Hawkins’ describes her painting as “a bridge to the present moment.”
Julie Hawkins has recently exhibited her works in numerous festivals and art fair presentations in Canada and the United States including The Artist Project, Toronto (2013-2020); Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, Toronto (2014-2017); Riverdale ArtWalk, Toronto (2017); Interior Design Show West, Vancouver (2015); Affordable Art Fair, New York City (2015; NYC Artexpo, New York City (2018); and SURTEX | B2B Marketplace for Original Art + Design, New York City (2017).
