Kiln fired painted glass has been a key part of the beautiful craft of stained glass for over a thousand years. While not often taught, it’s an easy, and forgiving medium to learn.
Using a design of your own – or a selection from designs provided – you will learn to paint and fire lines, shading and silver stain to create a classic glass roundel. This is a chance to make a stand-alone art piece or learn valuable skills to add greater design and depth to your own glass work. Discussions will include history of the art, different techniques, materials and how to safely fire painted glass.
