In this six-week beading course facilitated by Cha Nimke Nagwagin Kwe, also known as Jasmin Glaw, participants explore the Indigenous art form of beadwork and design while celebrating their own personal experiences and cultural journeys by completing a pair of moccasin vamps (also called tongues or uppers). This holistic workshop focuses on Indigenous values surrounding relationships with the self, family and community, explores notions of cultural appreciation versus appropriation, and develops a stronger awareness of Indigenous art and design. All materials provided.
