Inspired by the exhibitions Witness: Edward Burtynsky and Water Works, this class takes an eclectic, abstract approach to drawing and painting nature. Burtynsky’s aerial photos of land/water/human interactions will serve as a starting point to explore how line, colour and pattern create visually compelling compositions. From abstraction to realism, you will experiment with pattern, variation and repetition in simple, fun exercises. Then create your own drawing or painting from these studies and your own photographs. A relaxed, fun, and experimental class, this is for adults at all levels. The class price includes a $40 material fee.
