Join us for an engaging conversation exploring the enduring relationship between the 132 years strong Women’s Art Association of Hamilton (WAAH) and the Art Gallery of Hamilton. Featuring a presentation and slideshow by Chief Curator Tobi Bruce, followed by an in-conversation with WAAH Past President Karen Logan, this program traces WAAH’s historic role in shaping AGH through early fundraising efforts, significant donations, and advocacy for women artists. Highlights include works acquired through WAAH support, important WAAH artists in the collection, and the legacy of the Clara Galbreaith donation.
The discussion also looks to the present and future of the organization. Audiences are invited to learn more about WAAH, consider the evolving meaning of membership, and take part in a timely conversation about the power of women’s artistic networks in shaping public institutions.
