Amber Ozols work has been informed by deep grief. Painting with oils or acrylics, she has utilized her artistic practice as a meaningful way to work through this personal experience while also considering the all too often binary, socio-cultural conceptions of grief.
“It’s convenient for society to see things in a binary way. Broken and fixed. Sad and happy. We contain multitudes, and society is rarely open to this way of thinking. I am hoping to engage an audience with my bright, colourful plants, and discuss what grief feels like.”
Amber Ozols holds a Business Associate Agreement, Illustration from Sheridan College, Ontario, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from Concordia University, Montreal.
