Laura Dick’s artistic practice has taken shape over many years during which she has developed a style of painterly realism. Though her paintings have considered various subjects, she finds time and again that she is most drawn to florals. A balance of soft and hard edges evident in her canvases portray the felt essence of the flora her paintings depict.
“Beauty can be found everywhere and my paintings are the expression of what my eyes and heart see. The natural world gives me subjects full of form, contrast and color. I enjoy getting lost in the detailing of petals and their shapes”
Laura Dick was born and raised in Toronto, ON where she received her formal education in Graphic Design from OCAD University.
