Tania Guzmán is a Mexican-Canadian painter born in Toronto, Ontario. She studied at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington D.C.
Guzmán has lived in Mexico, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. These diverse countries have influenced her creative processes and her aesthetic approach. She spent three years painting and absorbing the rich culture of the State of Oaxaca, studying the colours of the Pacific coast and incorporating them into her palette. Other works evoke the light and colours of the North, and the transition and shifting emotive balance between these two worlds. Her style has been introduced to a Canadian audience and has successfully incorporated her family heritage, inspired by the colours of her multinational experiences.
Guzmán is currently based in Toronto, Ontario.
