Calling All Art-Loving Kids!
Do you have a favourite artwork at the Art Gallery of Hamilton? We’d love to hear why!
We’re looking for up to 8 children and youth to become ‘Docents for a Day’ during the AGH art+music+food Festival in November.
Here’s how it works:
- Visit the AGH Permanent Collection on the second floor.
- Choose your top three favourite artworks before Sept 15, and tell us why they stand out to you (email kpatience@artgalleryofhamilton.com).
- Then, on Sunday, November 8, join AGH staff and festival visitors for a special guided tour.
During the tour, the group will move through the gallery together, stopping at each participant’s favourite artwork. When the tour reaches your selected piece, you’ll step forward for a few minutes to share why you chose it, what you love about it, and what it means to you. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see the gallery through the eyes of young art lovers, so participants should feel comfortable speaking to a group.
As a thank you, each selected docent will receive a $50 AGH Shop gift card.
