This virtual exhibition will explore cultural, social and political themes around the Chedoke Collection of Inuit Art, created by Inuit patients being treated for tuberculosis in Hamilton in the 1950s and 1960s. With significant curriculum connections for grades seven to ten, this project facilitates inquiry-based navigation, with deep dives into issues of displacement, identity and Canada’s past and current relationships with Indigenous peoples through the lens of nearly one hundred works of art.
