Directors’ Perspective – Panel Discussion

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Thursday, December 12, 2024

Tickets Required

Join us for a conversation with the current and former directors of the AGH, as we explore 110 years of art collecting.

The exhibition, Directors Collect: 110 Years offers diverse and transcultural perspectives and interpretations of the museum’s holdings, including recent acquisitions. We will discuss the decisions that built the AGH collection, the director’s priorities, the challenges they faced and their choices that reflect broader socio-cultural, political and artistic trends of the day.

Panel Speakers:

  • Shelley Falconer: Current Director at the AGH (2015 – present)
  • Katherine MacDonald: Daughter of the first AGH Director, T.R. MacDonald (1947 – 1973)
  • Glen Cumming: Former AGH Director (1973 – 1989)
  • Ted Pietrzak: Former AGH Director (1992 – 1998)

Moderated by Tobi Bruce, Head, Exhibitions and Collections & Chief Curator at the AGH.
