Gather by the Grand River: Picnic and Star Gazing

6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Friday, September 20, 2024

Location: Chiefswood Park

The evening will begin with a brief talk by Alex Jacobs-Blum about her art practice, inspiration and experience in her community of Six Nations of the Grand River. Contemplate the natural backdrop of the Carolinian forest and prairie grassland on the banks of the iconic Grand River. The evening ends with a sunset riverbank picnic and then transitions into stargazing as the night falls.

Alex Jacobs-Blum is the RBC Artist in Residence for 2024 with an exhibition In the Shadow of the Eclipse that will engage with the Art Gallery of Hamilton’s permanent collection to explore the intersections of peace, grief, love, and loss, and our responsibilities as we move into the future together.
