Accessibility

The Art Gallery of Hamilton welcomes visitors with special needs. Currently, our facilities include:

A ramp in the lower Lobby.

A lift to access both levels of the Jean and Ross Fischer Gallery and Community Lounge.

A wheelchair accessible bathroom on the Office level, which also houses our Studio and Boardroom.

Related information:

Persons with disabilities pay full admission and ONE attendant receives free admission.

Guide dogs or support animals are welcome.

Two complimentary transport wheelchairs are available for use at the AGH.

Tactile programs such as Touch Tours are available through our Accessibility program.

SERVICE DISRUPTIONS
Safety and accessibility are the most important priorities at the Art Gallery of Hamilton. The AGH is committed to letting people know of a service disruption as far ahead as possible. Should there be a service disruption, the AGH will provide alternate services and will explain the reason and its anticipated duration.
Visitors will be able to receive up-to-date information through the:

  • In the AGH Highlights section of the homepage of the AGH website
  • The AGH main telephone message
  • Signage at the AGH, which will be prominently placed so that it will be visible
  • At the AGH Visitor Services Desk.

Central Staircase

Installations located on the Central Staircase are unfortunately not fully accessible to patrons dependent on mobile systems for transportation.
