Floral Art Series: En Plein Air at Dundurn Kitchen Gardens

Location: Dundurn Castle Kitchen Gardens

Experience the beauty of Dundurn’s restored Kitchen Garden through artmaking and observation. Begin with a short, guided tour led by a Dundurn representative, followed by a brief demonstration and workshop with instructor Cheryl Ann Hills. Participants will enjoy two hours of outdoor creative time with one-to-one instruction, surrounded by heirloom gardens, fresh air, and fellow art enthusiasts. Beginners are warmly welcomed.
Need to Know
Location: Dundurn National Historic Site, 610 York Blvd, Hamilton, ON L8R 1Y2
Participants are encouraged to bring their own art materials – all artistic mediums are welcome
Don’t have supplies? A basic watercolour kit, brush, and paper or canvas will be provided
Containers used for water or other materials must have secure, tight-fitting lids
On-site parking and washrooms available
Cheryl-Ann Hills
Cheryl-Ann Hills is a Hamilton-based artist and arts organizer whose work is inspired by the natural landscapes and wildlife of Southern Ontario. Working in a variety of traditional media, she is passionate about helping artists connect with nature through creative exploration and plein air painting.
In addition to her personal arts practice, Cheryl-Ann founded the Hamilton Ontario Plein Air Artists and organized the annual Hamilton Plein Air Festival, which has brought together dozens of artists and community partners from across the region. She regularly leads workshops and classes throughout Hamilton and in partnership with local organizations, sharing her love of art, observation, and the outdoors with artists of all skill levels.
