The AGH Youth Film Challenge is back for another year!
This year, we’re doing things a little differently. Read on to find out what’s new and what we’re promising to bring back!
Have you ever thought about testing out your storytelling chops as a filmmaker? How about competing with other aspiring and emerging filmmakers like yourself in a challenge? If you are a youth or emerging storyteller age 25 or under and are from the Hamilton area (including municipalities of Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough, Glanbrook and Stoney Creek), the Art Gallery of Hamilton invites you to participate in AGH Film Festival’s annual Youth Film Challenge.
This could be an opportunity for you to create a short film and have it presented to the public during the 13th annual AGH Film Festival. For the very first time, Youth Film Challenge is introducing an education initiative to make sure our participants leave with a wholesome experience of training, filmmaking, and networking.
This year, we’re inviting our participants to learn about creation and curation in a 5-part workshop series to support their filmmaking journey from its inception.
Curation: Tuesdays, August 17 to September 14 at 1:00 pm.
Join Film Festival Curator Ryan Ferguson for part of this 5-part workshop series. Students engaging in the Curating Stream will learn how the AGH curates their film festivals, they will have the opportunity to support artistic work and build their understanding of the process and requirements for screening creative work. By participating in these workshops, students will gain experience in arts and film administration and will test their curating chops by reviewing submissions to the Youth Film Challenge, collectively curating a portion of the 13th annual AGH Film Festival!
Spots are limited. Register today!
