How can I join/renew my AGH Membership?
There are five easy ways to join/renew:
- Online: Through the Secure Online Registration here: Become A Member
- In person: At the AGH Visitor Services Desk and the AGH Shop
- By phone: Call Member Services at (905) 527-6610 ext. 241, Monday to Friday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
- By Mail: Complete the Membership Form and mail it along with your payment to:

I already purchased an exhibition admission ticket. Can my purchase go towards a new AGH Membership or Gift Membership?
Yes. You can apply the cost of your single exhibition ticket towards a new AGH Membership or Gift Membership if the ticket is purchased at the AGH within 7 days as your Membership. Complete this in-person at the Visitor Services Desk.
Is my membership refundable?
No, memberships are not refundable.
Are there any special events for AGH Members?
There are several special events designed specifically for AGH Members, including Member Shopping Days at the AGH Shop and our annual Members Holiday Party in December. Members also receive invitations to new exhibition season openings and other special events throughout the year.
Be sure to keep an eye on your email for the Monthly Membership updates for all the latest information.
How do I upgrade my AGH Membership?
You may upgrade your AGH Membership at any time. The expiration date remains the same. You simply pay the prorated difference between your current level of Membership and the level to which you wish to upgrade. To upgrade your Membership, visit the AGH Visitor Services Desk during your next visit or contact Member Services at call 905-527-6610 ext.241.
Can I bring a guest with my Membership?
You can bring as many guests as your Membership level allows.
Guest admission starts at the Supporter of the Arts ($120.00) level and above. Look at the graph below to see how many guests each member level allows for complimentary admission each visit.
To be admitted free of charge, each guest must be accompanied by an AGH Member who has a current, active Membership.

What should I do if I need to update my personal information?
Please log into your profile using the email address provided at registration through the Member Portal. This easy-to-use platform gives Members more control, and in just a few clicks, you can update your information to ensure we have accurate information.

Can I lend my AGH Membership card to a family member or friend?
AGH Membership cards are not transferrable. Only the named Member can use his/her card.
If you know someone who would enjoy the benefits of an AGH Membership, why not give them a Gift Membership?
When will I receive my AGH Membership card?
You should receive your digital membership card in an email shortly after your purchase your membership. If you do not receive an email and have made sure to check your spam/junk folder, make sure that your information is accurate using the Member Portal. This easy-to-use platform gives Members more control, and in just a few clicks, you can update your information to ensure we have accurate information.
Then email Member Services to send you a new link to your digital card.

My membership question was not answered in this FAQ. Can I call the Membership Office if I have any other questions?

Questions about Digital Membership Cards?
As of February 2026, the AGH introduced digital membership cards a as a smarter, greener way to access your benefits. Your card lives in your smartphone wallet, stays up-to-date with auto-renewals, and removes the need for plastic card replacements, making your membership simpler and more sustainable.
I did not receive my digital membership card. How do I confirm my information is accurate?
Make sure to check your Junk/Spam folder first and mark our contact information as a safe sender. If no email can be located, please log into your profile using the email address provided at registration through the Member Portal. This easy-to-use platform gives Members more control, and in just a few clicks, you can update your information to ensure we have accurate information. Ensure your email information is up-to-date and if needed, email Member Services to send you a new link to your digital card.

How do I add the digital membership card to my iPhone?
- Access the email from your iPhone
- Select “Add to Apple Wallet” and finally select “Add”
- The card will automatically download to your iPhone’s Apple Wallet where it can be accessed at any time.
How do I add the digital membership card to my Android phone?
Android users need to ensure the Google Wallet app (also known as Google Pay or Gpay) is installed.
- Access the email from your android phone
- Select “Save to Google Wallet” and finally select “Add”
- The card will automatically download to your Google Wallet app, where it can be accessed at any time*
*In some cases, Google Wallet might ask you to log in so you can save it to an account. Please log in to continue (no credit card information should be required).
Can the plastic cards still be used?
Yes. If you currently have a valid plastic membership card, you may continue to use it until the expiration date printed on the card. We encourage you to download your new digital member for your own convenience as plastic member cards are no longer being issued.
I previously had a Guest card for my secondary cardholder. Will I still receive a digital card for them?
No. Digital cards are now sent to all named members with an email attached to their record. If you have not named a secondary cardholder, you will receive two emails in both your name. If you would like to name a secondary cardholder, please procced to the Member Portal and follow the instructions below:
- Login using the email you registered for your membership
- An email will be sent with a secure code to enter. Make sure to check spam just in case!
- Enter the code
- Navigate to the ”Household” tab located along the left-hand side
- Select “Add Household Member” butto towards the right had side of the screen and add the required information.
- Once updated, email Member Services (MemberServices@artgalleryofhamilton.com) to generate a send the digital card to the selected cardholder.
My name is misspelled. How do I correct it?

I would prefer a plastic card. How do I request one?
While our goal is to reduce the use of plastic cards, we understand that some members may prefer a printed option. Plastic membership cards can be issued upon email request.
Please email Member Services (MemberServices@artgalleryofhamilton.com) with the subject line: Membership Printed Card Request and be sure to include your name in the email.

What is a recurring Membership?
A recurring membership plays a vital role in shaping everything we do! This consistent yearly payment provides steady support that empowers us to elevate emerging and established artists, present bold and thought-provoking exhibitions, and keep the gallery welcoming and accessible to all.
Members are billed yearly and authorize the AGH to automatically charge your credit card to provide uninterrupted access to your benefits. To enroll, select the “Automatic Renewal” checkbox when joining or renewing.
I have just joined as an AGH Member and want to visit the Gallery today. Is my Membership valid immediately?
Yes. Your AGH Membership is valid from the moment of purchase, and you will be receiving a transaction receipt at the time of purchase. While you wait for your digital membership card, please present your email confirmation to take advantage of your complimentary AGH Admission.
How long is my AGH Membership valid?
You can purchase a one-year Membership. Your Membership will expire at the end of the month in which you purchased it in the following year.
Questions about Discounts and Reciprocal Programs?
Is my AGH Membership reciprocal with other art galleries and museums?
All AGH Members enjoy reciprocal benefits at selected Ontario museums and galleries. You can check out the complete list here: Ontario Galleries
Benefactor Level (Supporter of the Arts and Patron of the Arts), and Masterpiece Circle Members (Tom Thomson, Emily Carr, and William Blair Bruce) receive reciprocal benefits at additional North American museums, through the NARM and ROAM reciprocal admission programs, including free admission and discounts on purchases made at participating museum and gallery shops. Please note that some museums and galleries restrict benefits and charge an additional fee to view special exhibitions.
