School Programs

A School Visit to the AGH can be enriching and exciting for students and can also help to make connections to art and critical thinking in a way not possible in the classroom. All AGH Learning programs are grade-specific and consider a full range of learning outcomes curriculum relevance, multi-sensory and interdisciplinary approaches to learning, vocabulary and skill development; they encourage critical thinking and a deep appreciation for art and the creative potential present in everyone.

programs are available Tuesdays through Fridays in the morning (9:30am - 11:30am) and in the afternoon (12:30pm - 2:30pm), and include a guided Tour of the Gallery and a Hands-On Studio activity of your choosing.
  • A Tour & Studio program (2 hours) $8.00 per student
  • A Tour-only program (1 hour) $6.00 per student
  • Extenede program, tour and double studio $14 per student
  • Gallery visits can accommodate groups from 20 students to 120 students programs are suitable for students in kindergarten through high school.
  • A variety of studio programs are available.
  • Please plan your visit at least THREE weeks in advance.

Art Without Barriers Summer Camp

Each summer, in collaboration with local school boards, the AGH offers a fully-subsidized Art Without Barriers Summer Camp to enable children in need who show artistic interest and promise to experience a week of art making, art appreciation and peer bonding opportunities. Campers receive a rich program taught by professional art instructors, all supplies, an art kit to continue their art making at home, lunch, nutritious snacks and after-hours care, at no cost.
