In-Class
Curriculum inspired, Artist led Projects that support teachers and students to EXPLORE, LEARN, and CREATE.
In-Class offers a spectrum of dynamic arts-based workshops led by talented local Artist-educators delivered in virtual classrooms that make core curriculum subjects, more engaging, meaningful, and fun. These projects occur over multiple sessions and can connect Literacy, Math, Social Studies, Environmental Issues, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Social Justice Issues, with creative approaches through visual art, music, theatre, and film/photography. Students will be inspired to collaborate, think critically, problem solve, and communicate their ideas as they develop a deeper understanding of themselves, each other and their community
Each On-Line Project will include:
- Collaborative orientation meeting with the Artist Educator and Teachers interested in participating in an arts-based project with their class
- A short asynchronous introduction from the artist-educator, describing the project, their arts practice and materials needed
- Three 15-minute, asynchronous (pre-recorded) workshops introducing the skills needed to create an art project followed by extension activities to further develop the piece
- Three synchronous sessions with the artist-educator giving students the opportunity to ask questions and share their work
